The Refuge-Gîte
40 beds in total:
Two double rooms with bedding included and private bathroom for more comfort.
One room with 4 single beds, a basin and shared bathroom.
One room with 6 single beds, and private bathroom for a family stay or groups of friends.
Three dorms from 8 to 10 single beds. Blankets provided and shared bathroom.
There is no heating in the rooms, please bring a sleeping bag in colder periods.

I grew up in Nord Isère, and I have spent a lot of time exploring mountains while travelling from 2015 and 2018. I practiced cycle touring, hiking, climbing and back country skiing.
Animated by an environmental awareness and a sharp curiosity, I am following an eco friendly lifestyle. As a nature lover, I am attracted by wild plants, fauna and flora, and I am aiming to spread these interests around me.
Passionate about cooking, processing, foraging plants; I experiment and season my cuisine with delicate attentions.
I have been working in mountain huts for 6 years; and I have experienced the joy of sharing the wonder of these dramatic landscapes and this specific environment.
I am pleased to offer the chance to observe, learn and appreciate the mountain from the hut.
Life in the refuge-gîte
In Vallon d'Ambin, Haute Maurienne, Céline welcomes you and offers a comfortable stay in a shared place. We will match your needs with our different options.
The refuge-gîte is located near by the river, and many hiking trails will take you to mountain lakes. Your hikes will be aided by several carparks higher up in altitude.
For a gourmet break during the day, or an overnight stay in the mountains, discover the Refuge-Gîte du Suffet and the home made cuisine.
Before your departure:
In the dorms and the bedrooms, a part from the doubles rooms, please bring a sleeping liner
your towel and your favorite slippers.
The arrival
Enjoy the sunny terrace, our fresh beverages, and taste our home made pastries. Our varied plates will please your aperitif. For more comfort, thank you for arriving before 6:30pm.
On the evening
Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. There is a single generous and tasty vegetarian menu. Starter, main, cheese and desert are made with organic and local products.
On the morning
A breakfast buffet, served from 7:00 to 8:30 am
For your hike
Enjoy a home made and zero waste lunch box, which gives you the energy needed for the day.
When booking:
Thank you for letting me know about any specific diet, and also if you prefer a dish with local meat (an extra 2€ per person)
Private groups
You can hire the Refuge-Gîte and appreciate the whole space. Our different sized rooms, our lounges and the sunny terrasse will provide you enjoyable spaces for your stay.
If you want to stay on your own: a well equipped kitchen and a dining room will give you full autonomy.
If you prefer to get the catering service: choose the half board option and get dinners and breakfasts.
According to the number of people in the group, the refuge-gîte can be fully or partially booked.
Stay in a room within your group only
Staying a night at Refuge-Gîte du Suffet, in the mountains, is an invitation to discover and appreciate a preserved site. Among friends or family, choose the type of room that suits you and enjoy the closeness to Parc National de la Vanoise.
For your holidays in Savoie, the discovery of the beautiful valleys in Haute Maurienne, le Refuge-Gîte is a base for your cultural and sportive trips.
On a circuit or for a short stay, travel light and serene with the half board option and the opportunity to get a lunch box for the following day.
Camping
A natural camping area located 100 meters away from the refuge-gîte, allows you to stay as long as you wish. The easy access to our facilities and the equipped kitchen will give you full autonomy.

With easy access by car, our different rooms and the beautiful surroundings are suitable for workshops, trainings, corporate events and gatherings.
Professionals, artists, companies are welcome to organize an event in the mountains.
